HOCLOOP at European Geothermal Congress 2025 in Zurich
HOCLOOP at European Geothermal Congress 2025 in Zurich featured research on closed-loop geothermal systems, CO₂-based energy extraction, and heat transport modelling.

HOCLOOP at GET 2025 in Rotterdam
Hosted in Rotterdam, Netherlands, GET 2025, the 6th EAGE Global Energy Transition Conference & Exhibition, took place from October 27 to October 31, 2025. And the HOCLOOP was there sharing insights on closed-loop geothermal systems and heat extraction technologies.

HOCLOOP Pilot Test Results Confirm the Potential of Closed-Loop Geothermal Technology
The HOCLOOP project has completed the analysis of its full-scale pilot test at NORCE’s Ullrigg Test Centre. The results confirm that the closed-loop geothermal system delivers stable, predictable heat extraction even in low-permeability environments, strengthening its potential for long-term, sustainable geothermal energy production across Europe.

HOCLOOP joins the 1st Geo-Cluster Workshop on Sustainable Heating and Cooling
HOCLOOP took part in the 1st Geo-Cluster Workshop on Sustainable Heating and Cooling, joining ten Horizon Europe projects advancing geothermal innovation. Watch Hemendra Sharnagat’s presentation “Closed-loop Deep Geothermal Solution” in the full recording.

HOCLOOP General Assembly in Florence: From Innovation to Real-World Application
Two recent workshops in Florence, co-organised by the University of Florence and University of Vaasa, brought together stakeholders and citizens to explore social and business perspectives on closed-loop geothermal energy within the HOCLOOP project.
