HOCLOOP project partners NORCE, Reelwell AS, and the Institute for Energy Technology recently convened at NORCE’s Ullrigg Test Center to prepare for an upcoming pilot test of the HOCLOOP geothermal technology in a full-scale operation.
The HOCLOOP Project was featured at the prestigious EAGEGET2023 conference in November 2023, a flagship event organized by the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE).
The HOCLOOP Project was successfully presented at the EERA – The European Energy Research Alliance European Geothermal Workshop in Utrecht in November 2023.
After a year of hard work, the HOCLOOP Project partners gathered in Darmstadt, Germany for a General Assembly meeting that took place on 30-31 October 2023. This event proved to be an invaluable opportunity for the partners to discuss our project’s progress and share insights.

Partners of the HOCLOOP project recently gathered in Paris for an intensive workshop, focusing on the simulation, pre-feasibility, and pre-design of the HOCLOOP concept. The spotlight of the workshop was on exploring the use of alternative heat-transfer fluids in diverse geological settings drawn from potential pilot sites across Europe.
The project “A circular by design environmentally friendly geothermal energy solution based on a horizontal closed loop – HOCLOOP” was recently kicked off at VITO, in Belgium.
